Barbara Rosen, Principal
I am energized by translating stories and data into action, so that organizations can invest in the early years to support mothers and eliminate the opportunity gap.
I have focused my career on expanding access to opportunity for children and families, working on programs and services that address intergenerational poverty and early childhood education. Over the past 15 years I have been involved with large-scale systems building initiatives across the private, nonprofit, and philanthropic sectors. My consulting practice builds off of my experience as a program manager, policy and data analyst, funder, and consultant for mission-driven organizations. With a unique background that combines analytics, writing, and management, Iām able to hit the ground running for clients that need strategic guidance and communications, project implementation and improvement, or data analysis and community feedback to guide policy and funding decisions. I have subject-matter expertise in early childhood education, asset building, and performance-based financing and contracting approaches to social services.
I hold an MBA from the University of Washington, a BA in History and Urban Studies from the University of Pennsylvania, Magna Cum Laude. I was a Fulbright Fellow in Peru from 2009-10, where I did research on asset building and conditional cash transfer programs for indigenous families. I currently serve on the Board of Directors and Public Policy Committee for the YWCA Seattle-King-Snohomish Counties, an organization dedicated to empowering women and eliminating racism.
I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, and enjoy spending time with family, hiking and exploring outside, picking berries, and baking haupia (coconut pudding) cakes with elaborate decorations.
